6 fresh Haldi ceremony Ideas from Rainmaker Weddings.
Snazz up the traditional Yellow
The colour yellow is an integral part of the Haldi function. Because obviously, Haldi or Turmeric is naturally yellow. Furthermore, the colour yellow is held in high regard in Indian traditions. It is the colour of joy, happiness and energy. But, just the colour yellow can be a bit of a drag. Mixing it up with a few vibrant colours is always a solid move. Colours like green, purple, etc, add a bit of kitsch to the event. These colours bring out the vibrancy in the colour yellow making it much brighter.
- From a Haldi function for a premium wedding, we planned and executed. Here the handsome men, with the groom in the middle, is seen sporting yellow-themed outfits and paired with a green tractor, it looks absolutely magical.
- The magenta wall coupled with yellow flowers in this floral accented wall looks absolutely amazing. The contrast in the colours brings out the vibrancy and brightness in both colours.
Some Tasty treats for some energy!
Haldi is a pre-marriage function so all the guests would be in a mood to party. Cousins, Uncle and Aunties would be grooving around all the time to their favourite music, so it is necessary that you provide some tasty treats to replenish their energy. In a Haldi function for one of the premium weddings we executed, we served an opulent North Indian Thali with around 10 – 15 dishes. The guests absolutely loved the meal and it was served towards the end of the function so it was a welcome relief to the guest’s hunger pangs.

The Haldi Ceremony Entertainments
Sticking to Desi forms of entertainments is a safe bet for Haldi functions. But the new-age couples usually opt to add a bit of a twist with some unconventional forms of entertainments. These include hiring some hip bands to perform some modern-desi rock ballads to up the ante of the event. We have experimented with hiring a parrot fortune teller for a Haldi event, the act was a huge hit among the guests, some of whom were experiencing this for the first time.

Floral Jewellery for all
Floral Jewellery is no less than a feast for the eyes. Dazzling floral jewellery often accentuates the beauty of the wearer so at Rainmaker Weddings we urge the guests and bride & groom to incorporate floral elements into their attire.

Getting Messy with Haldi
The crescendo of the Haldi ceremony is applying Haldi and Turmeric on the bride or groom. We have tried to spice this part of the ceremony too by giving the guests with water guns or by incorporating the ice bucket challenge. The end goal is to be as messy as possible!

Haldi Favours are a Must!
Haldi Favours have gotten quite funky during the past few years. From the traditional bangles to customised coasters, the list goes on and on.
